Transcript

As we get older, our vision becomes weaker and we need more light to be able to see things clearly.

Here are a few tips on how to increase the lighting in your home and make your daily tasks easier to perform:

  • Clean the light bulbs and light fixtures from dust, and replace burnt out bulbs.
  • Open the curtains and shutters to allow daylight in the spaces and perform tasks closer to the windows.
  • Paint the walls of the rooms in bright colours and have light-coloured furniture.
  • Top up the light where you need it. For example, if you need to write you could use a desk light, or if you need to cook, you can use light above the kitchen counter.
  • Light the bright surfaces in the rooms, such as the ceiling and the walls.
