The HMinfo Apps are free tools that facilitate ‘on the go’ assistance with assessing, planning, and undertaking modifications to the home and neighbourhood. The apps can be used on mobile devices, such as iPads, iPhones and Android phones.
The HMinfo DIYmodify App provides help with planning and doing your own home modification. Appropriate home modifications have the potential to increase the independence and quality of life of people who are ageing or who have disability, as well as reduce their ongoing care costs.
The move to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will generally give people more control over how they spend their funds and on what, including if and how they choose to do home modifications. Everyone will want to spend their funding wisely and doing it yourself (DIY) is one way to do this.
The DIYmodify App is for anyone who has wanted to do their own home modification but wasn’t sure how to start, and for those who are confident in DIY but not sure what is possible in home modification.
The HMinfo Livability App actively engages community members in rating the livability features and services of their town centre. Community members can use the app to rate walkability, health, and overall liveability, while walking through their local area. The app collects this information through audio, text, visual and image data and can be used by Local Councils and planners to make improvements based on the suggestions made.
The Livability app encourages and facilitates greater input from community on their local environment. The app is free to download from the AppStore and a YouTube instructional video is available to assist users operate the app.
