Workplace Safety Services: Stick It

Author: CCH Australia,
Year: 2000
Type: Web Page

Abstract:

AS/NZS 4586:1999 - Slip Resistance Classification of New Pedestrian Surface Materials standard "breaks new ground by rejecting the use of a universal minimum slip resistance threshold value to determine practicality and safety." Manufacturers and suppliers of floor materials would find the standard useful when ensuring that their products continue to meet contemporary standards. This article provides a list of strategies that can be of value in any workplace. They have been implemented in the restaurant industry and in particular fast food outlets which are plagued with slip and fall accidents.
