We're Growing Older Too: Quality of Life and Service Provision Issues for People With Long Standing Disabilities Who Are Ageing.

Author: Gething, L.
Year: 1999
Type: Report

Abstract:

The Community Disability and Ageing Program (CDAP) conducted this project as it believed that information was required urgently about issues facing people with long standing disabilities as they enter the later years of their lives. The purpose of the project was to provide an overview of issues and broad recommendations that would be of assistance to government and service agencies in developing policy and practice designed to meet the needs of people ageing with long standing disabilities. Issues are discussed in this report under five broad headings: financial security; independence and well being; access to appropriate and flexible services; health promotion and maintenance; and housing and accommodation.
