Abstract:

Based on 3 years international research, this book has been written to raise awareness among water and sanitation sector about the needs of people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. It provides practical information, ideas and guidance about how these needs could be addressed within normal water and sanitation programmes and services. The main focus is on access to domestic water supply and sanitation, which may be either household or communal level. Includes standard designs and illustrations. Valuable resource for water and sanitation sector planners, service providers, disabled people's organisations, and organisations that provide support to disabled people.
