The modular, life-span bathing unit

Innovation

Author: Mullick, A.

Abstract:

Bathing is a hazardous activity. For children, older people and individuals with disabilites, the hard surfaces, slippery floors, poor illumination and protruding objects make this the most dangerous room in the house. The National Safety Council in the U.S. reported that 345 people of all ages died in bathtubs in 1989, 364 in 1988 and 348 in 1987. This short article outlines a design for a modular bathing unit design for persons with disabilities.
