Abstract:

This report examines at the Learning and development for the Home and Community Care Program (HACC), a jointly fronted program by the NSW and Federal Governments. It is an organisation that assists frail elderly people and their carers. The report details the definition of learning and development and rational for learning and development and the core values of the framework which is: a client focus, valuing people, equity, integrity and a learning culture. The report examines the HACC service types in NSW, the peak bodies and training providers and the contextual challenges in the provision of learning and the development to the HACC sector. The report states that training and development of staff is a combination of formal training from education providers such as TAFE and self directed learning. The report examines the types of learning and development initiatives.
