The Disability Discrimination Act: Inclusion: a workbook for building owners, facilities managers, and architects

Author: Penton, J. H.
Year: 1999
Type: Book

Abstract:

This book gives a good history of the Disability Discrimination Act, which in October 1999 made it unlawful to discriminate against disabled people. Managers had to identify what physical features needed to be addressed in their buildings and how to build and appraise building management strategies to achieve and sustain accessibility. This text showed how the changes required could be achieved pragmatically and over a planned period often at minimal cost. It was intended to be used as a workbook, in conjunction with its associated pro-forma audit sheets, and as a key source of reference and information.
