Abstract:

A Dutch housing association recently built so called 'age proof dwellings' with provision of care and conditions to support independent living. Within the project , a user requirement analysis of people with special needs was performed to identify aspects of independent living. A user analysis of the first generation of 'age proof dwellings' and a feasibility study on integrated technology in a living environment were carried out. These should give the specifications for the next generation of 'age proof dwellings' and also provide a framework for the implementation of home technology.
