Survey questionnaires returned by 238 members age 55+ of a Jewish Synagogue outside Philadelphia, PA, are used to investigate the greying Jewish population. Focus is on this population's demographic characteristics & socioeconomic status, the importance of their Jewish religion, & the role of the synagogue. General theories on aging are considered, noting how they relate to the Jewish population specifically.
