Statement of findings: senior related housing issues.

Abstract:

This paper was developed as a result of public discussions and research into the particular issues of senior health, transportation, housing and planning/systems design. Affordable and suitable housing is of vital importance for California's seniors and adults with disabilities. Housing plays a disproportionately important role in the lives of this population due to its cost, the amount of time elders spend in their home and their desire to age in place. Moreover, housing is a major determinant of safety, ability to get out into the community, and the ability to afford other basic necessities of life.
