In-depth personal interview data collected from 101 residents aged 60+ of a small urban community are used to assess the elderly's awareness of "in-home" vs "aging network" services. Awareness levels are found to be considerably higher for the latter. Multiple regression analysis reveals that age, education, & self-assessed health are significantly related to awareness of both services. In-home service awareness is also related to sex, marital status, number of sick days, & whether or not an individual lives alone. Contact with informal networks is not related to service awareness.
