SAA handbook 197 D: A new guide for specifying slip resistance

Author: Bowman, R.
Year: 2000
Type: Journal Article

Abstract:

Standards Australia Handbook 197 is the essential guide to specifying appropriately slip resistant surfaces for most locations, particularly public areas where the Building Code of Australia, via AS 1428.1, requires that accessible floors be slip resistant. This paper also alerts readers to the slip resistance provisions of other standards that sometimes need to be considered. It should assist industry to adjust from the use of AS 3661.1 to the new slip resistance standard, AS/NZ 4586.
