Representing the community: issues from applied research experiences

Ethical intersections: health research, methods and researcher responsibility

Author: Kendig, H.
Year: 1996
Type: Book Section

Abstract:

Few direct and easy connections can be demonstrated between classical treatises on research methodology and the practical demands and questions of applied research. Attention is required to the process of doing research and how one can identify and address ethical issues and social responsibility in specific studies and particluar contexts. This chapter presents examples from the author's own applied studies with older persons; the focus is on generic issues which arise with research that relates to any constituency group.
