Primer on Private Philanthropy and Aging

Journal of Applied Gerontology

Author: Schreter, C. A., Brummel, S. W.
Year: 1988
Type: Journal Article

Abstract:

Private foundations & corporate contributions programs have been directing less than 3% of their limited charitable funds to services for U.S. elders. Based on a review of the literature, contemporary foundations & corporate philanthropy are examined-including current funding patterns, history & current scope, & pertinent developments-in order to help community-based service providers understand & overcome barriers to developing modest local private sector funding sources for the elderly.
