Abstract:

The author presents static coefficient of friction values for some common industrial floors (wood block, apoxy coat, painted concrete and steel plate) and for three slip resistant floors (grit steel), using leather shoe material under dry, wet, oil, antifreeze conditions. The combined effects of differing shoe materials (leather and rubber) and wetness (dry or wet) on each of the abovementioned floor surfaces are also illustrated.
