Abstract:

This book is about the assessment of building performance through post-occupancy evaluation (POE). POE is a phase in the building process that follows a sequence of planning, programming, design, construction and the occupancy of a building. The book is intended to provide architects, researchers, consultants, building owners, and facilities managers with useful guidance on the process and content of POEs. The book includes a review of the evolution of the field, a conceptual framework for POEs and pragmatic information on planning, conducting and reporting POEs.
