It was announced late last year that the government intends to develop a National Strategy for an Ageing Australia, and invites input to the Strategy. This article presents recommendations from ACROD, the National Industry Association for Disability Services, identifying and discussing the following areas as being priorities in the context of policy development for an ageing Australia: demographics and aged people with disabilities; barriers to access to services; exclusion from rehabilitation programs; people in nursing homes; adaptable housing.
