Abstract:

This directory presents information on major health, welfare and supported accommodation related data collections held in Australia. The directory is a major revision of the 1991 Inventory of Australian health data collections. In addition to the welfare related collections included in the previous health inventory, the directory includes information on aged care, child care, children's services, disability services and housing data collections. Collections included are national in coverage, or present state or regional coverage, but with the potential to provide a national picture or guidance for national health, welfare and housing assistance policy. Separate sections cover the national collections, and each state / territory. An index of subjects/topics covered by the collections is presented as an appendix.
