Abstract:

This report was prepared for the Tenants Rights Project for People with Disabilities, a project auspiced by Shelter Victoria. The report documents the research carried out by the project group into the tenancy problems and needs of people with disabilities in Victoria, and documents suggested strategies and recommendations aimed at addressing these problems and needs, both generally and within the Tenant Support Program administered by the Office of Fair Trading. Appendices include the questionnaires used in the surveys, as well as social security statistics relating to recipients of disability-related benefits who are in private or public rental.
