Abstract:

Describes a national project designed to expand home care worker training programs at American Indian colleges & to disseminate information to a broad range of individuals & organizations involved in service provision & advocacy on behalf of American Indian elders. The project replicated a home care worker training program at one college & provided planning grants to three others in the state to evaluate the feasibility of implementing home care programs there. The project resulted in greater availability & better quality community-based home care for frail elders, & in the dissemination of knowledge about American Indian aging issues to service providers, tribal leaders, & educators.
