How designers think: The Design process demysified

Author: Lawson, B
Year: 2009
Type: Book

Abstract:

This book written by Bryan Lawson discusses havig to try to understand how designers think and the pitfalls they can face. He does this by mapping out issues concerned with the design process, focusing on design problems, solutions, and thinking. This edition adds to the previous debates by including a new chapter called "Design as Conversation", which reflects on how designers - either consciously or unconsciously - monitor, reflect on, control, and change their thinking. It also includes a new series of case studies featuring notable creators such as race car designer Gordon Murray, product designer James Dyson, and architects Edward Cullinan and Glenn Murcott.
