This paper reports the views of older people and suggests ways they may relate to building and design issues and related policies. The author presents broad perspectives on ageing and housing and then turns to the meaning and use of housing, independence and the built environment, land use controls, and public housing. Concerns on income adequacy and housing costs are not addressed.
