Housing For Life: Designed For Everybody.

Author: Master Builders Association of the ACT,
Year: 2001
Type: Book

Abstract:

This Guide is based on the concept that housing can be adapted to make it accessible to everybody, irrespective of age, level of mobility or condition of health. It is designed to help people who are thinking of modifying their homes, looking to build a new home, or deciding if they should stay in their current home or move to a more suitable home. The insights provided by about 700 veterans, war widows/widowers and carers in a survey of needs of the veteran community have helped in the development of this guide. Although it is directed towards the veteran community it contains basic information to meet future personal needs that may arise because of age, a disability or changing circumstances, such as temporary period of recovery from an accident or illness.
