Gerontological Approaches to Care for the Aged in the 21st Century: Proceedings of the 6th Annual Asia/Oceania Regional Congress of Gerontology.

Author: Kendig, H., Browning, C.
Year: 2000
Type: Conference Paper

Abstract:

Over the last decade Australian research has begun to inform the development of new policy approaches to promoting the health of older Australians. This paper begins by providing an overview of a qualitative study and concludes with some comments on ways to better integrate research and policies. This qualitative study explores the meaning of health from the perspective of older people themselves and the personal and the social factors which facilitate or impede health promoting ways of life.
