Abstract:

The occupational therapist administers home safety assessments, fabricates and/or installs adaptive and home modification equipment, trains clients in the use of such equipment, counsels on daily living skills, and provides information and referral services. Adaptive equipment includes wall bars, toilet rails, raised toilet seats, tub rails, and bath benches. Home modification equipment includes stair and hallway safety rails, furniture modifications, and hand-held showers.
