Abstract:

Timber framed decks are popular in New Zealand because they provide easy indoor-outdoor flow. All decks must comply with the relevant New Zealand Building Code: Safety From Falling; Structure; Access Routes; Durability and Surface Water. Branz recently published Bulletin 355 which gives advice on designing timber decks.
