Designing for real people

Design Management Journal

Author: Mueller, J.
Year: 1995
Type: Journal Article

Abstract:

Universal design means developing products so that they can be easily used by all groups of people including the elderly and people with disabilities. The author points out that while such an approach makes sense economically and should simply be considered good business, it is often ignored. This is especially true in the realm of high tech about which Mueller comments on several product types and proposes some specific design recommendations.
