Build for all reference manual

Author: Expert Group of European Commission,
Year: 2006
Type: Book

Abstract:

This document raises awareness of accessibility to buildings, outdoor spaces, and facilities, and provides practical guidance to those who prepare calls for tender for design and construction work. It consists of a handbook and a toolkit. The handbook provides background information for raising awareness of decision makers and public servants about the importance of accessibility in the built environment. The tool kit gives a practical approach for contracting authorities to include certain procedures and technical requirements in procurement, so as to ensure that accessibility criteria are met in design and construction. An excellent guide to the implementation of best practice in accessibility in public procurement.
