The Council of Social Service of New South Wales (NCOSS) is the peak body for the social and community services sector in NSW and works on behalf of disadvantaged people and communities towards achieving social justice in New South Wales. It plays an important role in pursuing the broad policy issues that affect the whole sector. This annual report reviews the work of NCOSS for 1997, the focus of which included: human services, ageing, disability, child protection, substitute care, children's advocacy, rural communities, homelessness, public transport, health, employment, the Home and Community Care (HACC) program, and the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP).
