ADT introduces HealthSensor devices aimed at preventing, detecting falls at senior care facilities

Author: ADT Security Services,
Year: 2000
Type: Web Page

Abstract:

ADT introduces two HealthSensor fall monitoring devices to help provide a quicker response for residents who have fallen, and also to help prevent these falls. These devices incorporate a unique new sensor technology that continuously monitors the motion patterns of a resident and alerts staff when a fall has occurred, or when it is imminent. Each HealthSensor device is smaller than a pager, weighs about one ounce, and can be inconspicuously clipped to a belt, necklace, or garment. Thus the resident is able to move freely and with dignity, without the drawbacks of pressure pads, rip cords or other more restrictive, less reliable fall management systems. The HealthSensors are even water resistant, so they can be worn in the shower, attached to a patient with a strap.
