Abstract:

The intent of this chapter is to develop an awareness of the physical difficulties encountered by various types of handicapped people in the exterior environment and to suggest ways in which this environment can be made more adaptable and usable by all people. Typical interrelated problem areas that may pose access barriers to the handicapped are classified and discussed.
