I am extremely excited to have Google Play and Apple itunes versions launched and the accompanying website extension up and running. I believe it is a huge step forward in how consumers and home modification services interact, communicate and collaborate, not just as as a team, but cross functionally as well. Let me give you a little insight into the decision process and what I hope to achieve through this initiative.
Many people find themselves wanting or needing to modify their home but uncertain how or whether they are allowed to do so. Everyone is living longer thanks to improved health and better health care. This App gives you information and support to people with disabilities, older people and carers to make changes to their living spaces for easier living, greater comfort, and safety.
Digital disruption and downloadable Apps are not new, but they are novel in the disability space. Importantly, they shift the way people think about collaborating. Apps are just one means to assist everyone as they encounter changes in function over time to make small changes that can make lives easier, more comfortable and safer. I like that, and more importantly when I looked at what our current information strategies were, I realized that we could do them better and more efficiently by using technology to reach more people who are not yet requiring care or health support.
The DIYmodify App is a free application (App) specifically designed for people with disability and seniors to do their own home modification.
We would kindly ask that you tell your employers, friends, family, and valued networks and about the DIYmodify App. To get the word out about the DIYmodify App to the largest possible numbers of potential end users we need your support. To make this easy, please use this dropbox link to our social media kit to spread the word to as many Australians as possible.
The App can be found here:

It's up to all of us to help as many Australians know about it, find it at the App stores and use it. We welcome all improvement suggestions and value your support and feedback.
