Nominations are now open for the 2012 Standard Awards – a programme recognising excellence in the field of standardisation. 
 
Nominations to Standards Australia may come from Committee Members, Industry Organisations, Nominating Organisations and users of Standards.
 
Categories include:
 
  • 1 x Outstanding Service Award – awarded to one Committee Member who has exhibited exceptional service over and above that of any other candidate.
  • 2 x Meritorious Contribution Awards – awarded to Committee Members for their extraordinary participation and commitment to the standardisation process.
  • 1 x International Contribution Award – awarded to one Committee Member for their extraordinary participation and commitment to international standardisation process.
  • 1 x Outstanding Committee Award  – awarded to a Committee who has exhibited exceptional service and commitment over and above that of any other Committee.
Standards Awards are presented to individuals, and one Committee, who have made significant contributions to standardisation and who have demonstrated outstanding service in enabling Standards Australia to attain the objectives for which it was founded - to enrich the quality of life of all Australians.
 
Award recipients are selected on criteria including: 
  1. input and participation in committee meetings and deliberations;
  2. contribution to problem solving and conflict resolution;
  3. involvement in national and international Standards work;
  4. research work; and
  5. advocacy of Standards and standardisation.
The recipients for the National and International Meritorious Contribution Awards and the recipient for the Outstanding Service Award are chosen by a selection group made up of Senior Managers. This group also identify the Committee who will receive the Outstanding Committee Award.

Please note:  Standards Award winners will be notified by letter from Colin Blair, Standards Australia Chief Executive Officer, in May 2012. 
 
Awards will be presented at the Standards Australia Mid-Year Council Meeting to be held on Friday 1 June 2012 in Melbourne.
