The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has published a 2021-22 update to their report, People with disability in Australia.
The report brings together information from a range of national data sources to contribute to a greater understanding of disability in Australia. Some people with disability face challenges routinely and actively participating in everyday life areas (such as employment) and are more likely to experience poor health, discrimination and violence than those without disability.
The update expands the report to include new reporting of data disaggregated by age group, disability group and remoteness. New data about personal life, social inclusion and finances of people with disability have been added to the existing chapters. The update also includes a new chapter about the experiences of people with disability during the COVID-19 pandemic, covering the period from 2020 to mid-2021.
The full report can be accessed via the APO website.
