The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released a decision paper on NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Pricing and Payments The paper sets out the NDIA’s approach pricing and payments as well as administrative arrangements for funding of the land and built elements of SDA under the scheme. The NDIA’s approach to implementing SDA is designed to ensure that NDIS participants with very high support needs and/or significant functional impairment who require specialist housing solutions have their reasonable and necessary housing supports met. SDA is not intended for all people with a disability. The NDIA will work closely with states and territories, housing authorities, and communities to identify opportunities to address the broader accessible and affordable housing challenges for people with disability. The NDIA’s paper and further information on the provision of SDA under the NDIS can be found on the NDIS website at https://www.ndis.gov.au/news/sda-decision-paper-0
