LIVING WITH DEMENTIA WEBINAR

At 3pm today, Tuesday 21 April the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) will be hosting a webinar on Living with Dementia during COVID-19 and how we can help.

A panel of experts will discuss:

  • The impact and challenges for people living with dementia, their carers, families and friends during COVID-19
  • Positive strategies that can assist people living with dementia during this time

More details on the webinar and registrations can be found here.

The webinar will also be recorded and available for later viewing on OPAN’s website.

UPDATE ON RESPITE CARE

An update on respite care was included in the daily newsletter released on 17 April. We have received some feedback from the aged care sector regarding this update and wish to clarify the Department’s advice.

While the Department continues to encourage service providers to accept clients in need of respite where safe to do so, all services must comply with social distancing measures.  Please also review infection control measures and social restriction requirements to ensure client safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
