Online Continuing Education Courses Begin March 25, 2013
The IDeA Center has 11 online courses in its continuing education program, each offering 15 hours of continuing education credit. The following 2 courses begin March 25:
UD and Home Modifications
This course examines the role that home modifications play in improving the fit between people and their homes. It describes the primary goals of home modifications and the policies and methods of home assessment. Additionally, several common home modifications are discussed along with case studies of both exemplary and poor modifications. AIA members will receive 15 CEU Credits for completion of this course.
Practicing Universal Design
This course focuses on disability demographics and the aging of post-industrialized societies. It demonstrates how to support universal design practice and identify important design issues and emerging trends. It explores the emergence of universal design practices in a range of professions. Universal Design, as an example of innovation, is studied in relation to the processes and mechanisms of innovation diffusion and it examines strategies for increasing the adoption of Universal Design. AIA members will receive 15 CEU Credits for completion of this course.
Registration is always open. To enroll in the March 25 courses, please register by March 21.
The courses will last 4-weeks, 3/25 - 4/21. There is no required log-in time so you can take the courses on your schedule. Courses require about 15 hours of study over the 4-week period, including readings, videos, discussion, projects, and tests. Courses cost $250 (USD) each, plus the cost of textbook (available in e-book or hard copy). The same textbook can be used for multiple courses.
