New Aged Care Act to start from 1 November

The Minister for Health and Ageing, Disability and the NDIS - Mark Butler has announced that the New Aged Care Act is to start from 1 November instead of the previously planned earlier implimentation. This is in response to advice from the sector and experts that more time will improve the delivery of these reforms and minimise disruption.

The new Support at Home program will commence at the same time as the new Act, and until then the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Short-Term Restorative Care Program and Home Care Packages programs will continue.
