Neoliberalism, Human Rights & Disability Seminar

Visiting researcher Randall Owen will be presenting a seminar on the influence of neoliberalist values on employment policies and the human rights of people with disabilities on Wednesday 25th August, 1-2pm at the Disability Studies and Research Centre. The DSRC is located in John Goodsell Building, Level 1, and the seminar will be in Room 119. Please RSVP Emile Lacoda on z3190760@zmail.unsw.edu.au by Monday 23rd August.

Randall Owen is a PhD candidate from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a visiting scholar at the Disability Studies and Research Centre exploring how human rights for people with disabilities are protected in policy and experienced by individuals in each of these countries.

Employment as a focal point of disability rights, and the recent enactment of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities are crucial to ensuring equitable participation in the workforce by people with disabilites.
