NDS NSW Conference 2018

Published

NDS CEO Dr Ken Baker talked about the risks for NDIS during the NDS NSW Conference 2018, which took place on the 15th  and 16th of February 2018.

According to Dr Baker there are four key risks facing the NDIS:

  • Supply: when participants are unable to get reasonable and necessary supports when and where they need them.
  • Quality: if the supports people receive are inferior and people with disability are exposed to harm.
  • Cost: There is no legislation yet approved by the parliament to secure a future revenue stream for NDIS.
  • Timelines and the high number of approved plans that need to be achieved at various points.

Dr Baker considers the risks relating to supply and quality are the most critical, pointing to the importance of market stewardship
