Disability Information Helpline

The Australian Government has launched a new Disability Information Helpline for people with disability, their families, carers, support workers and services who need help because of coronavirus (COVID-19).

If you have a COVID-19 related question and do not know where to start, you can contact the Helpline from Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm (AEST) and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 7pm (AEST) in the following ways:

  • Phone (free call): 1800 643 787
  • If you are deaf, or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can also call the National Relay Service on 133 677.

The Helpline will help connect you with the right service, give you reliable and accessible information, or can connect you with a councillor for emotional support if that is what you need.

Visit the Disability Information Helpline page on the Department of Social Services website for more information.

Health resources in Easy Read

This week we updated our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) and ‘What happens when’ with information about support coordination.
Find answers to questions about:
  • how your support coordinator can help you during this time
  • how to increase your support coordinators hours
  • how to get more funding for a support coordinator
  • getting access to a support coordinator for the first time.
There are also new FAQ’s about support workers.
For more information, visit the Participant FAQ page  or What Happens When page on the NDIS website.

Priority supermarket delivery

All NDIS participants have now been assigned a unique home delivery access code to get priority access to supermarket home delivery services.

These have been provided directly to participants by SMS and email.

Use your code when placing online orders for home delivery services at participating supermarkets:

If you are an NDIS participant and have not received a code, contact your Local Area Coordinator, ECEI coordinator or call 1800 800 110.

Visit the Priority home delivery services webpage to learn more.
