National Construction Code Interactive House

Did you know that every Standard referenced in the Australian National Construction Code (NCC) related to residential premises? The NCC Interactive House interactive website won an award in 2012.

Standards referenced in the NCC fall under the NCC's Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions and compliance with these Standards represents the most common method of satisfying the NCC performance requirements.

You can explore the NCC Standards interactive house, incorporating the Building Code of Australia (BCA) Housing Provisions (Volume 2) and the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) (Volume 3) of the NCC.

Also discover which Certification Schemes are relevant to building products through the NCC Standards interactive house.

For instance if we click on the backyard we can see a residential access ramp and when we click on it the backyard ramp calls the ramp refers to AS1428.1 but the actual image does not appear to fully comply given it only has a handrail on one side. My guess would be again this was developed without any consultation with the sector, nor any real understanding.
