The inaugural National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Conference will be held on 3-4 November 2026 on Ngunnawal Country in Canberra. It is hosted by the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Council (NATSIAACC).
The conference theme is: Ageing Our Way Through Culture, Connection and Community. It is an oppertunity to bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and Older People, community-controlled and Aged Care providers, sector leaders, government, policymakers, researchers and partners across Australia.
It is First Nations lead, and aims to to guide conversations about the future of Ageing and Aged Care, including topics around culturally safe care, community control, workforce, access and navigation, the changing Aged Care system, and what implementation needs to look like on the ground for Elders, Older People, families and communities.
