Integrated Carer Support Service

Published

On 5 March 2018, the Australian Government announced funding of an additional $85.6 million over four years for the introduction of new services for carers.

This will provide carers with access to new early intervention supports and services to improve carers well-being and long term outcomes.

The new services form part of the integrated carer support service (ICSS) to be implemented in two stages:

  • From October 2018, carers will be able to access new digital services including peer support, counselling, coaching and educational resources through the Carer Gateway website.
  • From September 2019, a new network of Regional Delivery Partners will be established across Australia, providing carers with access to new and improved local services.

Request for Tender

As part of the implementation, two Request for Tenders were released on 14 March 2018:

Industry briefings on the Carer Coaching and Carer counselling and Online Peer Support RFTs are available to view online.

The Department of Social Services will be providing the sector with regular updates and undertaking further consultation with key stakeholders and carers as the ICSS implementation progresses.
