Extension for limiting workers in Greater Melbourne to one site

Published

In line with the Commonwealth Chief Medical Officer’s decision to extend the declaration of a hotspot in Greater Melbourne, the availability of the Australian Government grant funding to support implementation of single site workforce arrangements has also been extended for a further two days through to 11.59pm on 17 February. The new grant activity period is from 13 February to 17 February 2021. If the hotspot declaration is further extended, these arrangements may also be extended.

The safety of residents and workers in residential aged care is the highest priority and we encourage workers to limit their work to one site, where possible, during this high risk time. Where this is not possible, workers must declare this before beginning their shift and records must be kept to enable prompt contact tracing if required.

For guidance, providers can visit the Guiding Principles Support Hub website or phone the hotline on 1800 491 793. Support for workers is also available through the employee assistance program delivered by Converge International on 1300 687 327.
