Concerns about implementation issues with Support at Home

Published

Concerns about  implementation issues with SaH (Support at Home) have been voiced by both  OPAN chief executive officer Craig Gear and COTA Australia chief executive Patricia Sparrow.

In addition to the wait times for assesments there have been reports of people waiting up to 17 weeks to receive SaH entitlements. Issues with interim support packages not fully covering assessed needs have also been highlighted.

This is in addition to the recent discolsure during Senate Estimates by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing that there are still approximately 220,000 people waiting for aged care support.
