Ageing Design Montreal

The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is proud to announce that a newly created non-governmental organisation known as Ageing Design Montreal (ADM) will be hosting the IFA's 9th Global Conference on Ageing and Expo Ageing Design which will take place from September 4 to 7, 2008, in the Palais des condres de Montreal, Montreal, Canada. ADM was created with the support of the most important partners of IFA in Canada, including the Government of Quebec, the Government of Canada as well as the City of Montreal, through its Commissioner for Design. ADM brings strong local partnerships of both the public and the private sectors in the field of ageing and design. AXA Canada remains as the principle sponsor of this event which wil break new ground in Montreal next year.

The IFA's 9th Global Conference on Ageing and Expo Ageing Design will offer a global forum for informed discussions on major ageing issues and show the imapct fdesign has had on health, participation and security of older people worldwide. Under the leadership of the IFA the program content will provide opportunities for increased understanding of the major ageing issues with particular attention to the way "design", in its broadest term, impacts on the lives of older people. Led by IFA's international partners, which comprise of some of the most influential NGOs, governments and academics, the conference will focus on the newest findings in research, policy and practice. The Board of Directors of the International Federation on Ageing and the Board of Directors of Ageing Design Montreal welcome the tremendous opportunities that a partnership of this nature will have on influencing age-related policy and reaching out to all of the design disciplins that can impact so significantly on the lives of older people.
