Mental health Fist Aid Course

One of the outcomes of Rotary funded research is a program of first aid education called Mental Health First Aid. The concept of this course is very similar to standard first aid. Just as we should know how to give CPR until the ambulance arrives, we should know how to support a person in a mental health crisis or the early stages of mental distress so that they get the professional help they need. The course also helps to break down stigma and increase understanding of the challenges that people with mental health concerns face. It is designed for persons in the general public such as family and friends and no prior knowledge is required. Mental health professionals may also benefit through enhancing public communication skills.

Rotary Club of Randwick and Rotary Club of Maroubra have teamed up to offer this course for our community.

This professional two day course normally costs more than $200 but we are proud to offer it at the special price of $45 to improve understanding of mental health in our community.
