Google SketchUp for Environmental Modifications

This training is designed for Occupational Therapists - learn how to use this effective and free software in your daily practice.

Program objectives

• Learn how to create professional, clear, ‘to scale’ diagrams
• Be able to add text to diagrams
• Know how to save different views for plan, side and elevation diagrams with measurements
• Know what logistical issues need to be considered when sharing diagrams electronically
• Will observe and practice inserting a digital image as a background to show recommendations in place and to scale

Activites

• Advanced tools/navigation
• Shortcuts and tips for creating complex ramp systems, handrails and other major home mods (eg bathroom)
• Inserting Images as background
• Adjusting scale of SketchUp model to match photo (to show recommendations in place and to scale)
• Exporting and saving files for sharing (including background image)
• Logistical issues of sharing electronic files
• 3D warehouse
• OT Templates
• Support and training
